Sarah:
This was a gigantic disappointment. I was expecting a period drama focused on the history of the time and the actual events taking place, but what I got was over 2 hours of a bunch of young adults playing around in fancy dresses and very bad wigs. The soundtrack is great but does not fit in any way. This film turned Marie Antoinette's life into a bad teen drama and left me disgusted.

I agree Kirsten...I agree. |
Alishia: Yeah... Sarah pretty much covered it. It was bad enough when the movie opened with jarring modern pop music, but the scene that particularly enraged me was at the masquerade ball when they actually had the characters actively interacting with the music. Who thought this was a good idea? It completely removed me from the immersion and made it feel like I was watching some teen movie homecoming dance. There were so many scenes that were simply unnecessary and redundant, primarily the party and dress-up montage scenes. The only positive thing I can say about this movie is that it looks pretty. That's it. I am also left disgusted and incredibly disappointed.

Someone help, I can't stop tapping!
I spotted this game in the apple app store before it was even released, and the beautiful graphic grabbed my attention instantly. As soon as it became available, I knew I had to try it out, and with an initial price tag of 'free', there was nothing stopping me from being caught in its trap. Who knows when it happened, or how, but I am now a slave to the endless compulsive tapping this app demands.
When I first began playing this game, I was disappointed. I did not realize it would be so tedious and redundant. The premise of the game is to... well, tap. In order to drive out the dark creatures that have taken over the bright and cuddles-filled world, you must flood them with light by tapping them repeatedly until they dissipate and release their captives. And you keep tapping... forever? The "enemies" do not even attack back. Ever. They just sit there until you tap them to death.
I mean... Just look at it. |
However, 12 hours later I was... you guessed it... STILL tapping. I really don't know what it is, but for some reason, I just keep picking it back up. Maybe it's the beautiful animations, maybe it's the addictive mindset of "just one more and I'll stop," maybe it's just the extremely therapeutic effect of watching the darkness meter being drained with each tap of my thumb. I may never know the answer.

Like many others, I originally bought this product as a dupe for the Two Faced "Better than Sex" mascara, which I absolutely love. Many have claimed that this product is almost the same or even better than "Better than Sex." Let me emphatically express... it is not. I had such high hopes for this product. I liked the pretty packaging, the hourglass-shaped brush that I fell in love with from "Better than Sex," and of course, most of all, the price. At $8.00 a unit, it is significantly cheaper than "Better than Sex", which is priced at $23.00 (ouch). Unfortunately, this just did not impress me. In fact, I have never loathed a makeup product more. The instant I put this on my lashes I never wanted to use it again. It clumped my lashes worse than any other mascara I have tried and irritated my eyes for the rest of the day. It felt heavy and flaky, even though it was a waterproof formula. My lashes also refused to hold a curl with this mascara, and there is a strong chemical paint-like fume that is so overwhelming that it made my eyes water before the brush even touched my lashes. I simply cannot express my disappointment with this product enough. This was a complete waste of money and I can not wait to throw it away and start putting money aside to just go ahead and buy myself a full-sized tube of "Better than Sex."
